- Every second May, a colorful parade grips Brussels, as schools, workshops, youth centers, cultural centres parade through the city with lively music, dance, costumes and scenery.

- From mid-July to mid-August you can enjoy this big fair, all along the ring road on the Boulevard du Midi, near the train station. Has nearly 130 attractions for young & old.

- In December, the city centre becomes a beautiful Christmas market complete with wooden chalets, where you can buy all sorts of gastronomic specialities & fun gifts.

- The Brussels Marathon
- Every year, usually in October, the city's traffic comes to a halt, as the full marathon (and several other less demanding routes) takes to the streets. Time limit is 5 hours!

- Ommegang is an annual street parade, held in July. The procession actually reconstructs the entry of Charles V & his court in 1549. Nowadays a great show with 100's of artists with amazing costumes.

- The Brussels Summer Festival is the most important cultural happening in the capital in August. Stretching over 10-days you'll see street theater, music, street animation and much more.
