Beer Style

Belgian IPA (India Pale Ale)

The Beer

A British-born beer style, India Pale Ale – IPA - is popular with beer lovers around the world today. IPAs tend to be bitter and/or aromatic beers in which the hops are the strongest influence on the taste and aromas.

Belgian brewers have translated this historic and very current beer style into a new tradition based around the nation’s love of ‘balanced beers’.

Leffe Royale Cascade IPA, brewed with three varieties of hops including Cascade, is a lively degustation beer with refreshing touches of citrus (lemon and yellow grapefruit).

The Leffe Royale range aims to showcase the best quality hops, in this case the Cascade variety originally from the Cascade Mountains in the USA.

The hops are a major factor in determining the soul, identity, character, colour and taste of the beer.

The Leffe Royale range also includes Mapuche, Mount Hood and Whitbread Golding.

The Leffe range of traditional abbey beers comprises Leffe Brune, Blonde, Triple, Ruby, Radieuse, Nectar and Bière de Noël.

    Serving Temperature

    5-7°C / 41-45°F

    Serving Glass

The Leffe Royale beers are served in an elegant chalice in which aromas can develop to the full. It sits on top of a tall, engraved stem. The letter ‘L’, etched at the bottom of the glass, ensures a continuous production of bubbles that helps the head to stay intact for longer.

      Character, Tastes & Aromas

Leffe Royale Cascade IPA deploys refreshing touches of citrus fruits (lemon and yellow grapefruit) that are typical of Cascade hops from the USA.

        Culinary

In general an IPA goes better paired up with a dish than when used in a dish as the bitterness of the hops intensifies when cooking down.
